Lady Bug, an installation by artist Jennifer Angus, is on view now through December 5, in the Don Russell Clayton Gallery at Kennesaw State University’s Zuckerman Museum of Art. This visually stunning installation celebrates female scientific pioneers and transforms the gallery into a kaleidoscope of pattern and color using more than 3,000 preserved insects. From a distance, the designs appear as ornate wallpaper or textile motifs, but step closer and you’ll find shimmering beetles, leaf insects, and cicadas meticulously arranged on the walls and under glass domes. At once enchanting and unsettling, Lady Bug invites viewers to reconsider their relationship with the insect world while honoring the often-overlooked contributions of women in science.
