About the movie Hairspray:  Set in 1962 Baltimore, the story follows Tracy Turnblad (Nikki Blonsky), a big-hearted teenager with big hair and even bigger dreams. When she earns a spot on the popular TV dance show hosted by Velma Von Tussle (Michelle Pfeiffer), Tracy becomes an overnight sensation. But she soon discovers that the show enforces racial segregation—prompting her to use her newfound fame to fight for integration and equality.
 
With help from heartthrob Link Larkin (Zac Efron), Motormouth Maybelle (Queen Latifah), and her loving parents (played by John Travolta and Christopher Walken), Tracy proves that change starts with standing up and dancing out loud.
