Currently, there are no travel restrictions or advisories related to COVID-19 in the domestic United States, which includes Cobb County and its six cities. Based on guidance and information from Georgia’s governor, Brian Kemp, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), and Georgia Department of Health, Cobb County – and all destinations – should continue to observe the health recommendations of national and local public health organizations. These universal recommendations include washing your hands, refraining from touching your face, and staying home if you are sick.

Is it safe to travel to Atlanta?
Currently, there are no travel restrictions or advisories in the domestic U.S., which includes Atlanta and Cobb County. The CDC continues to recommend washing your hands frequently and avoiding contact with your eyes, nose, and mouth to prevent the spread of contagious diseases like COVID-19. Older adults, those with serious chronic medical conditions, and those feeling unwell should avoid traveling.
Are there any closures of note for visitors to Cobb County, such as attractions, hotels, restaurants or meeting venues?
As always, Cobb County welcomes visitors. Please check specific web sites of attractions, restaurants, hotels and others for up-to-date information on their level of operations. As is true in every community, citizens and visitors are asked to observe public health recommendations including washing your hands, refraining from touching your face and staying home if you’re sick, among others.
What actions are being taken by local airports to ensure the safety of passengers?
Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport (ATL) and its partners, consisting of the CDC, the U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP), Transportation and Security Administration (TSA), AATC, airlines, contractors and concessionaires, are working closely together to help manage and mitigate the spread of the virus. As part of these efforts, Hartsfield-Jackson has increased the frequency that public areas are cleaned, provided additional education and training for employees, posted signage to provide guidance and education to passengers, and is coordinating with public health, CDC, and other agencies for instructions on a daily basis. What actions is the Cobb Galleria Centre taking to ensure the safety of its meeting attendees?
The management team of Cobb Galleria Centre and Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre has been closely monitoring all communications regarding the COVID-19 (Coronavirus), and with Governor Brian Kemp’s declaration on March 14, 2020 of a Public Health Emergency in Georgia, the decision was made to temporarily close the Cobb Galleria Centre and Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre effective Monday, March 16 through March 31, 2020.
