The Horace Orr Post 29 American Legion and City of Marietta invite the public to honor the community’s veterans at the annual Veterans Day Parade and Ceremony on Monday, November 11th, on the Marietta Square. This year’s parade will be the 20th annual celebration of our Veterans and Military Servicemembers. The parade will depart the staging area on Roswell Street at approximately 10:40 am and proceed down Roswell Street to the Square with the Grand Marshal, Captain Kent “Tuna” Hepler, US Navy Retired, arriving at the Square at approximately 11:11 am in observance of the traditions of the original Armistice Day in 1918. The Parade will include marching bands, drill teams, floats, veterans’ organizations and military vehicles. The Parade will end shortly before noon and a ceremony will be conducted in Glover Park with speakers, a gun salute and Taps.
