Cobb County, Ga. – (November 13, 2019) – Cobb Travel & Tourism celebrated its 27thAnnual Meeting & Mixer with friends and partners on Tuesday, November 12 at The Brickyard in Downtown Marietta.

Each year, Cobb Travel & Tourism hosts this event to recognize the accomplishments of the organization and the hospitality community. This year, the program included the presentation of the Cobb Travel & Tourism Spot-On Awards, election of the new board of directors for 2020, launch of a new promotional video focused on Cobb County’s trail system, and unveiling of Cobb Travel and Tourism’s newest event, Bubbles and Brews Craft Beer Month, which will be held in March of 2020.

“2019 will be remembered as a progressive and productive year for Cobb Travel & Tourism. Not only did we exceed our goals, but we charted a new direction that will guide us into a bold and bright future,” said Holly Quinlan, President & CEO of Cobb Travel & Tourism. “2020 will hold even more sweet opportunities and possibilities.”

The theme for the event was “Trailblazing into 2020.” The décor hinted at this theme with orange bicycles hanging from the rafters and trail maps fixed to every wall. Even the hor devours included smores as an homage to outdoor adventures. “Over the years, Cobb Travel & Tourism has worked closely in partnership with key community stakeholders – our county, cities and community improvement districts – to tell the story of Cobb’s trail system. Soon, we will be designing a map with trailheads, bathroom locations and future trail connections, as well as trip itineraries that use multiple trails and suggest to visitors places to eat, shop and explore along the route” said Quinlan.

Spot-On Awards were given to partners for their outstanding support of Cobb Travel & Tourism and the Cobb Sports Alliance over the past year. The Hospitality Hero Award was given to Cobb County Public Safety officials for the incredible work they did during the 2019 Superbowl. The Atlanta Marriott Northwest won Hotel Partner of the Year, the Marietta Square Market won Attraction of the Year, the Cobb International Festival won Event of the Year, Volkstuin Austell won Restaurant of the Year, and the Cobb Sports Alliance Event of the Year went to USABA Goalball Nationals.

“As we are beginning 2020, the opportunities for Cobb Travel & Tourism, the Cobb Sports Alliance, and Cobb Arts VIBE are significant,” said Jennifer Bennett, Chairwoman of Cobb Travel & Tourism’s Board of Directors. “The future possibilities and potential are sweet. We look forward to continuing our partnerships with the hospitality community to develop a destination that exceeds expectations.”
