Cobb County, Ga. (October 26, 2017) – Cobb Travel & Tourism will host the Costume Showdown during the 5th Annual Owl-O-Ween Hot Air Balloon Festival on October 27 and 28 at KSU Sports and Entertainment Park. Owl-O-Ween is Atlanta’s largest hot air balloon festival, and the Costume Showdown is sure to make guests’ experience extra sweet.

The Costume Showdown is a completely online, social media contest. All guests will need is a Twitter or Instagram account, a smartphone, and their best costume. Entries are submitted by uploading a photo with the hashtag #OOW17. There is no physical check-in location, and participants can snap pictures at the various installations or with the hot air balloons around the festival. All Owl-O-Ween attendees are encouraged to participate and there is no fee to enter the contest. Admission to the festival is required.

Categories for the Costume Showdown are 1st Place, 2nd Place, 3rd Place, and Best Kids’ Costume. The contest will be open during both days of the festival and online voting will end Sunday, October 29 at 11:59 p.m. Winners will be announced by Cobb Travel & Tourism on Monday, October 30.

Owl-O-Ween has brought something unique to the Cobb County community. The two-day festival features live entertainment, tethered hot air balloon rides, food trucks, a craft beer garden, roving performers, and much more for guests to enjoy. Owl-O-Ween had a $6.8 million economic impact and attracted 36,000 visitors to Kennesaw last year. Over its last four years, the festival has generated more than $20 million in economic impact. Owl-O-Ween was also awarded Cobb Travel & Tourism’s Spot-On Award for Event of the Year in 2016.
