Cobb County, Ga. – (November 13, 2018) – Cobb Travel & Tourism celebrated its 26th Annual Meeting & Mixer with friends and partners on Tuesday, November 13 at The Brickyard in Downtown Marietta.
Each year, Cobb Travel & Tourism hosts this event to recognize the accomplishments of the organization and the hospitality community. This year, the program included the presentation of the Cobb Travel & Tourism Spot-On Awards, elected a new board of directors for 2019, and unveiled Cobb County’s newest arts initiative, Cobb Arts VIBE – Visionaries Imagining Bold Experiences.
“2018 was a year of welcoming the new and innovative while honoring the rich history of things that make us proud to be a part of Cobb County,” said Holly Quinlan, President & CEO of Cobb Travel & Tourism. “2019 will hold even more sweet opportunities and possibilities.”
Art-themed performances throughout the event teased the unveiling of Cobb Arts VIBE, including a live painter, a harpist from the Georgia Symphony Orchestra, and performances by the Atlanta Lyric Theatre. “Cobb Arts VIBE hopes to unite individual artists, arts initiatives, and organizations together to form a collective vision for the community. The VIBE believes that they can achieve more together than they can apart,” said Quinlan.
Spot-On Awards were given to partners for their outstanding support of Cobb Travel & Tourism and the Cobb Sports Alliance over the past year. The Hospitality Hero Award was given to Joe Uhl from the Renaissance Waverly Hotel & Convention Center and the Cobb Hotel Council for his guidance, knowledge, and initiative that will impact Cobb Travel & Tourism and Cobb County for many years to come. The Embassy Suites Atlanta Galleria won Hotel Partner of the Year, the Marietta Gone with the Wind Museum won Attraction of the Year, the Kennesaw Grand-Prix Series won Event of the Year, Loyal Q and Brew won Restaurant of the Year, and the Cobb Sports Alliance Event of the Year went to USA BMX Dixieland Nationals.
