Cobb County, GA – (November 10, 2016) – Cobb Travel & Tourism celebrated its 24th Annual Meeting and Mixer with partners and friends on Thursday, November 10 at The Brickyard in downtown Marietta.
The program highlighted Cobb Travel & Tourism’s 2016 accomplishments and successes. It also celebrated the five-year anniversary of Cobb Travel & Tourism since it’s rebranding in 2011, awarded the Cobb Travel & Tourism Spot-On Awards, and elected a new board of directors for 2017.
Spot-On Awards were given to partners for their outstanding support of Cobb Travel & Tourism and the Cobb Sports Alliance over the past year. The Hospitality Hero Award was given to Major Jeff Adcock, Major Jeff Patellis, Major Stuart VanHoozer, and Captain Andy Hite with the Cobb County Police Department for starting the Cobb Hotel Security Task Force. The Residence Inn Atlanta Kennesaw/Town Center won the Hotel Partner of the Year, Kennesaw Mountain National Battlefield Park won the Attraction of the Year, Owl-O-Ween Hot Air Balloon Festival won the Event of the Year, and the Restaurant of the Year went to Seed Kitchen & Bar.

Al Martin, Chairman for the Cobb Travel & Tourism Board of Directors, received the Outgoing Chairman’s Award for his exceptional dedication to the organization over the last four years. “To have someone beside you as Chairman that is as invested in your cause as much as you are is more than rare,” said Quinlan.
Travel and tourism is Cobb’s largest industry at $2.75 billion and employs more than 32,000 people. The economic impact of the travel and tourism industry in Cobb is anticipated to grow to more than $4 billion in 2020.
