Cobb Travel & Tourism represents Atlanta’s sweet spot, Cobb County. Charming. Delightful. And truly alive with personality.
The study performed by Robert Lann Consulting, LLC, showed a 7% increase over the previous year for economic impact with the industry moving from $2.5 to $2.75 billion and a 5% increase over the previous year for employment moving from 30,000 to 32,000.
“Tourism is our No. 1 industry,” said Tim Lee, chairman of the Cobb County Board of Commissioners. “Our assets are tremendous. From Six Flags Over Georgia and Six Flags White Water to Kennesaw Mountain National Battlefield Park to Lake Acworth, we have something for everyone. With Cobb becoming a sports power alley where three major league teams will call Cobb home: Major League Soccer’s Atlanta United; Major League Lacrosse’s Atlanta Blaze; and Major League Baseball’s Atlanta Braves., it will only continue to grow.”
Commissioned by Cobb Travel & Tourism, the study’s purpose was to gain knowledge of Cobb’s travel and tourism impact in the county. The same study was also conducted for the previous four years.
“I am thrilled to see an increase,” said Al Martin, chairman of Cobb Travel & Tourism. “As we continue to work together with our partners and showcase Cobb’s unique tourism destinations, I believe we will continue to see our tourism industry flourish.”
